evo 5 transmission trouble

i was driving home the other day and suddenly lost drive going to the wheels and when i pulled over there was a loud whining/grinding noise... there is no drive going to the wheels in any gear at all.. before this happened it was clonking when pulling of from a standing start... it has a 4 paddle clutch any help would be greatly appreciated..

sounds to me like gearbox or diff has gone mate

i would second that. grinding and whining is never a good sign from the gearbox.
