EVO 5 PROBLEM :cry:

got an evo 5 ive it drives forwards n backwards and left ok but when i turn right ive got a bangin noise only when driving slow if i drive fast it doesnt do noise ive had the drivers side drive shaft off and it looks mint all clean in cv joints no signs ov any fault no play or movement in any ov my wishbones every thin as it should ive got about a 1mm ov play where the drive shaft goes into the transfer box in /out any ideas ??????? PLEASE HELP

I'd say it was diff bolts. Search it on here and you'll find a thread by me when I had the same problem

noise coming from drivers side front sounds like a cv joint ive changed the outer no difference so i change the inner and problem still there how easy is the diff bolts to do mate cheers SPENER

Search diff bolts and you'll find the thread I done with some info on how it's done

all done was diff bolts 270 quid including vat atom tranmisions in yorkshie

That's the problem when you go to a local mechanic who has nt got a clue about Evo s whereas a specialist would know it like the back of there hand and take half the time

That is alot as the bolts are only about £10-£20

Would you believe that when i brought my old Evo to be serviced by a local mechanic that when I got I back the diff bolts were ucked!!and the car was absolutely perfect before I brought it to him!

The unt told me that it would be grand to keep driving it when I brought it back to him!

its my first evo didnt know any where to take it and some one on here said it was £500 from mitsubishi so i thought £270 was cheap well sounds like i was wrong :-( cheers any way i know to ask on here in future to c if any one in my area to help
