Been trying to figure it out myself for a couple of days but couldn't really find anything helpful.

Question One.

If Evo 5 was produced only in 1998 how is it possible they have P or R reg on number plate ?? Don't all of them suppose to be S Reg cars ??

Question Two.

All about tail lights. Some of them has single lights as Evo 4 and some of them has proper double lights, one on rear corner and one on boot lid. How is that ??

I've heard that some people makes evo 4 looks like evo 5 and then they selling it as evo 5. Is that the answer on my questions ??

Thanks in advance for bringing some light on it.

Registration plate is irrelevant as a recognition.

As for the lights ... It's personal choice wether you have the garnish lights on the boot lid.

Trying to sell a 4 as a 5 is more difficult than you think. Arches, bonnet, lights, bumpers and spoiler all need changing. Basically the whole shell lol

If a dealership sits on a car you can sell a brand new old shape car, classic example is the Renault Clio bubble shape, they had so many left they were registering them in 07 plates

And interior, even then the logbook still gives it away.

Most of the evo 5s are R regs. Some are S regs, and you'll get some P regs. The reason for the P reg ones is people changed the dates in Japan before importing them in to avoid an the sva/iva tests (basically to save 1k). Cars with aftermarket parts ie. diff. would not pass an sva test!!

As Rob said earlier, the lights can be changed by anyone. Usually the evo 6 comes without the 2 lights on the bootlid.

The only evo 4s and 5s that came with out the bootlid lights were the evo RS versions.

Hope this helps

Plus the Evo 5/6 are longer and wider than an evo 4, making the evo 4s with arches etc. added look a little funny!
