evo 5 - fitting 18 x 9.5j wheels

hi everyone hope you are all well!

basically im after a little info to point me in the right direction with wheel choice, so i know they will fit before i buy them lol. :meh:

my cars an evo 5 gsr, currently running standard evo 6 oz wheels but i want something a bit more aggressive and with a wider stance.

i have found some online called bola b1 (they are on ebay as a package deal) that look alot like rota grid drifts and i love the look of them!

they are 18" 9.5j and can be supplied with et 30 or et40 offset. and tyre packages of 225 40 18 or 215 40 18.

ive been looking on the forums and seen various 18" wheels, most are being 18 9.5j with offset of et30. will this size fit my car and clear the strut,brembos and arches?

Fitting 18 x 9.5" rims to the V/VI with an offset of anything ET30 or less will cause rubbing issues to inner arch liners and outer arches. ideally you need 18 x 8.5 ET30 with 225/40/18 tyres specially if using coilovers.

Im running rota boost 18x9 et30 225/40 r18 and they dont rub im running hsd coilovers lowered 35mm, the back end is very close though

thanks for the replies, ive been doing a bit more digging and it seems the bola b1s arent the way to go then, also with them being alot heavier too. i definately want the style like that though. and found either rota grid drift or rota gtr to be my favourites.

can you guys tell me exactly what size of these i would need... as supamario666 said would 18x8.5 et 30 225/40/18 go on no problems with both of these styles of rim and clear everything including the brakes. i want to avoid getting a set of wheels that will lead me to chopping the rear arches and using spaces to clear brakes etc but still want it to look wider and more aggressive then the standard 6 alloys if that makes sense. the equipment im using is standard brembos and suspension is original just with lowering springs and the back is pretty low to be fair. many thanks

Boooooooom just fitted Bola B1's to mine et 30mm with a 5mm front so et 25mm, yeah the plastic inner arches may suffer but thats no biggy.

Wow mate that looks fantastic just what in after that kinda look. So uve got 9.5 x 18 rims, et30 with 5mm shim up front. And trim up the rear plastic arch and job done?? IM assuming it will be exactly the same scenario on my evo 5 to your evo 6. What tyres ore on them mate. Again that looks awesome!! Cheers

Have u drove it much mate what's the situation with the rear arches have you had to roll/trim them? And do they hit the front arch lip? Thanks.

Yep so 9.5 x18 et30mm witha 5mm spacer fronts so et 25mm
Indeed evon 5 same situation, tyre size 235 40 18

I havnt driven it much tbh but have coil overs so could adjust if need be.

My Evo is still a work in progress so try to look past that. The wheels are 17x9.5 Enkei RPF1's with 245/40/17 tires and a 17mm spacer up front and 10mm in the rear just to get them where I want them.

I got 18x9.5 on my e6 and rubs like a bitch on rears, I do have r888
On the girl mind, cornering hard or over bumps is teeth gritting for me but the wheels just look great, prob be better with every day road tyres but I do regret it a bit, they rub on the inner arch at the front where the door form as such is, metal we talking hear and coilovers set on max damp aswell, choose wisely
