Hi I've got an evo 4 it's been off the road for 8 months now and it's doing my head in. The car isn't running right, it started with over fueling and lack of power, also lag between 2000rpm and 3000rpm, car struggles to idle, and now won't start. I've had it scanned and all it comes up with is a mass air flow sensor fault, as I can't find a new one I brought a used one, fitted it didn't make any difference. I've had the Ecu tested which came back fine, there are no broken wires from the Ecu to the mass air flow, but there is still no signal coming out of the mass air flow sensor, I brought another mass air flow sensor, fitted it car ran a little bit better but still won't run right, and soon as the car did start before, the manifold glows red hot, there is also no signal from the lambda sensor but got told that it works off the mass air flow. If anyone could help me that would be great, I really want to get my evo back on the road, and don't want to scrap it.

Checked for air leaks?

Car has no air leaks, and yeah the Ecu was reset after I plugged in mass air flow

I didn't as it doesn't seem to be a boost problem, more on the idling and natural running of the vehicle. When the boost kicked in the car ran fine

Am a bit stupied when comes to fixing the car but I had the same prob with my evo 4!! Was wanting to cut out sitting still what got the problem fixed was the guy at the garge tightend up the air hoses and turned the idel Rev up.. Now every thing seems ok.. Does need remapped but only for a small fine tune
