The standard boost is set at 0.8bar.

I obviously dont know you or your car but i would highly recomend you get your fueling checked.

Has the car got any form of aftermarket boost controller on? i.e bleed valve, standalone boost controller? if the awnser to this is no then your car has been mapped as the only other way to adjust the boost is through the ecu.

I have safely run evo 4 engines on 1.4bar of boost. the weak spot on the 4 engine is the pistons, they dont like to run hot and melt easily.

my advice is get it checked out. it may cost a few quid but atleast you know if your map is safe

many thanks
john

When i bought my IV it was boosting past 1bar probably 1.1bar, it was basicly kicking me in the back & idle was wavering so i did what i do best & have a nosie under hood, found out the the vac pipes had come of the oem boost seinoid. Plumed the vac lines back in & now the car boost to just under a 1bar of boost & it dosent kick me in the back any more.

It is for this exact reason that I am always advising that members check all vacuum pipes time and time again.
