Hello, currently broken down on the A46, suspect fuel pump relay is the problem (can't hear the fuel pump come on). It's and evo 4 and I have both covers removed from under rear seats. Just need to know what colour cable to connect to the battery for the time being as a quick bypass. Any help or advice would be great and I don't have a multimeter and hundreds of miles from home ;))

Hi mate, i tried your suggestion and when connected i could hear the pump priming and could smell fuel (which it didn't do before) however due to the AA spaying quick start and turning the car over time and time again the battery was nice and flat when i got your reply boss. The AA dropped us back to Portsmouth and the car is currently with Mitsiart awaiting result. If it is the fuel pump then will go for a Walbro, ECU and boost controller as i've been rather slack on the tinkering side. Big thanks to El who advised me no end and again sorry to bother you on your weekend :)

no probs good luck .
remember to hard wire the walbro pump , they like 14v and fit a adjusable fuel pressure reg as the new pump will over power the oe one and flood the engine .

Really? I'm pretty sure the OE FPR maintain 3 bar (no vac) - the Walbro increases the flow, not the pressure.

Agreed. Hard wire fuel pump is a good idea ! And no it won't effect the fuel pressure just means the pump will be able to provide what it's being asked for :)

Turned out to be a knackered crank angle sensor and a shreaded belt. It getting fixed however i might er on the side of caution and chop it in for an E6 as its starting to cost money (regardless of how much is spent on servicing etc) and i don't fancy attending to any possible future crank walk issues which from what i've read seems to be a mandatory part of E4 ownership
