Evo 3 - over boost due to pipes wrong

Hi guys - When I got my car last month the engine was in the boot
I had all the work done but the mechanic didn't know where the boost pipes or vacuums pipes so he's took a guess an its over boosting - is there anywhere I can find a diagram or something ?

Simply plumb actuator to turbo to test the actuator 1st.
Then work backwards adding into the boost control loop. Until you find the failed item.

Surely the mechanic you hired should know what there doing with an evo engine or why get them to fit the engine !!! :what:

Cheers fellas - rob he only does basic cars he hasn't had his fingers in a evo engine bay before if I'm honest he did me proud apart from the over boost mate -

As rob said plumb j pipe to actuator and see what it does, you might have a split in a boost hose

Now you mention it I can hear the turbo way too loud so a split pipe would make sense

If you can hear the boost I would go with split have you got any spare hose you could try? As might be tough finding splits in silicon

I've got no spare hoses but there's a evo 3 on eBay not far from me breaking for spares, if I find this split hose tomorrow I should be able to grab one

Look on the underside of your bonnet there should be a sticker showing you how to plumb the pipework

Iv had 2 evo 2s and both have had one fitted. Have you checked?

I've not mate, but I've rebuilt then and never found anything like it.. I'm just at a friends house having a meal - when I'm home I will have a good look
