hey people. basically my evo1 has been sitting for a few weeks with a flat battery. i opened the door by turning the key, opened the bonnet and hooked up some jump leads. try and start it and it doesnt turn over.

it also has a wierd alarm system in where there is a seperate small fob on the keyring which i have to push and hold into a little slot in the dash untill a small red LEd turns off, when the light turns off i can then put the key in the ignition and start it. the problem is as soon as i hook up power to the car this small LED stays on constant and doesnt go off when i put the fob it. normally is flashes.

sorry for bad description and i dont even know if this alarm system or imobiliser comes as standard as i said in the welcome section im a complete noob.

any help would be good if there is anythhing i can do to start it

If you are looking to buy a tommi, then the best bet is to change the timing belt and the fluids right away, make sure that you change the ayc fluid and the gear oil too as well as the oil filter and plugs (only change the plugs if the are cooked) regardless of what the service history book tells you!!!

When you change the belt just make sure its not a gates belt.
If you let me know which part of the country you are in i can maybe recommend a good garage.

keep me posted buddy.
