But as we all know, making up your occupation on a legally binding form is fraud and a criminal offence.

There are SO many factors when it comes to car insurance, i'm paying £700 for the 9GT, but its mainly due to the fact i live in the middle of no where, car's garaged and i've got full NCB and a clean history of driving high performance cars.

i think the only way round it is to become a named driver... does the insurance go down when you hit 30?

If you live in a bad area age don't matter too much really, ncb is the big one as a few years no claims discount drops the insurance massively. Best way is you as main driver and partner as named driver or if you can a mother, an older lady with max no claims drops it a lot, which isn't a problem on a legally binding contract as you may let her drive it

You think being a HGV driver will make your insurance cheaper ...lol , you are classed as a high risk because of it.

If you've got no ncb then insuring an evo is going to cost you thousands...there is no way around that :\ If I was you I'd try and find an insurer that will recognise your previous ncb even though it has lapsed (I think some are better at this than others). Putting it in your g/f's name might get the car insured, but it's not legal as it has to be in your name if you are the main driver. Same with faking your job title etc...sure it will get you an insurance cert, but if you had to put in a claim and people started sniffing around....

Could you not speak to the last insurer to hold you ncb and see if they can give you some discount to the value of a couple years at least. When I first bought my type r and insured it I only had 1 year to my name I think so the lady on the phone was real helpful and gave me a discount equilivelent to another 2 years ncb
