Hi peops I'm new to the forum and new to evo's !!!!
I have sold my car due to being informed from my work that I'm getting promoted which entitles me to having a company car, which therefore means I have space in my life now for a toy !!!
I have looked into scoobys, M3's, RS4's etc etc etc but for some reason the Mitsubishi evo 8 fq 360 keeps pulling me away from all the others!
I don't know much about them but am very eiger to learn

Reasons as to why I should go for a evo 8 Please!!!
I guess you guys on here must know your stuff as there is some spectacular looking motors on this forum

Thanks lads
Jack

Hi Jack,
Welcome.

It's a good time to buy EVO's mate and you should be able to get a good spec evo8 or even a 9 if you can.

360 is a good choice and with minimal add-on you can get his to 400bhp.

Mind you M3 and RS4 are good motors too but think I would still stick with the EVO as feel it is just more fun to drive and look at :)

There is also a buyers guide on here. Worth a read before you go looking as fixing problems can be expensive but this would be the same for M3/RS4 too.

From my experience I would look for a goos service history as EVOs usually need to be done every 4500 miles and check for any whinning noises when driving, as could be diffs/transfer box and also give the gearbox a bit of a hard time checking for any crunching as refurbs can be around 1500 quid and can sometimes be a bit weak.

If you post up a link to any that you see for sale the evoowners team will happily comment for you.

Good luck and lok forward to some pictures soon :)

Either 340 or 360 will be a good choice buddy as you will find yourself tinkering and touching 400 with them. I have an 8 and it's a lovely car, personally I prefer the style of the 9 ie bumpers and wheels but I couldn't stretch that far when I bought mine. The Evo is by far the more fun out of them and if it's tuning you like they will satisfy you. Looks great sounds awesome and eats cars far more expensive with ease. There is a lot of nice examples floating around at the moment too so bargains to be had, feel free to run any past anyone on here

Nice to see another Essex member signed up! Unfortunately I cannot give you any advice on the 8 though as I've only driven the 10! Good luck anyway!

Welcome along mate. Theyre all good cars but i reckon the evo is most suited to being a toy.
