Erratic Idle Evo 9

Picked my new toy up yesterday and I am over the moon with it, there's is just one thing bugging, the car idles at anywhere from 1000-1500rpm and you can hear it fluctuating, is this normal??

Idle reset
Disconnect battery
Reconnect battery after 1 min
Start and idle with no electrics on at all for 10min
Leave idling for further 10min with all electrics on, lights/hazards/stereo/heater/etc
Then take for drive

Just to check as well the engine has been forged and it is running a bigger turbo etc. it almost sounds like its miss firing on tick over.

If I disconnect the battery and re connect are there any drawbacks? I had a car before where the battery was disconnected and once re connected the alarm played silly buggers. It also has a clifford immobiliser this won't be affected?

I don't know about any drawbacks to non std mitsi parts. Sorry.
Your miss fire needs more investigation. Check the plugs.

Aftermarket cams will make it sound lumpy on tickover.

Took the car for a service yesterday. Turns out there is no MAF sensor, is it normal to remove a MAF sensor on a bigger turbod evo?

Your running SD then! You should have 2 other sensors. A MAP and temp sensor on the intake pipes/manifold...
It's not normal or std but if done correctly can give bhp gains and smoother drive. Nothing wrong with having it done.
