Some help please. My engine warning light comes on occassionaly on 1/4 throttle, usualy when accelerating. I did a fault code check with the pin1 and 4 method and got the no fault continuous flashing.
The car is a Evo 6 with 2.3 sroker engine and many mods, can this be causing the warning light and in your opinion should I worry about it.
thanks
Hugh

Has it been mapped and had cel on knock activated?

Hi
Yes it has been live mapped to 410 BHP at 1.7bar boost. Not sure what the cel is, only had the car 3 weeks.
Thanks

sounds like it has a patchdd rom so that if the ecu detects knoxk the cel light flashes, has anything changed on the car since been mapped? might be the warmer weather causing it to lean slighly

I dont think anythinh has changed since the map. If it is a bit lean due to weather will this not ?
Thanks

Sorry crap typing, meant to say if it is lean this could damage the engine, is that right

I had cel on knock and it would light up sometimes on part throttle in warmer weather. It was just on the point of rpm change over for differing counts of knock. Possibly a bit technical for the op but And will understand lol

Thanks for that. It is a bit tecnical for this new owner. If it is what you suggest should I be worried.
Thanks

As long as you're not sticking 95RON fuel in it, get it to someone who knows their evo mapping.

yeah is sounds like part throttle/transition knock but with out logging and checking the afrs its hard to definately say, if you can get yourself some higher octane or even octane booster and put that in and then try again , if it stops then its defo knock
