Engine ticking under load

That pipe runs off the intake pipe, what is happening to boost pressure.. would expect over boost as there would be no pressure in the pipe.

it wouldn't cause the ticking

I haven't had any over boost, however I dont really drive it to the limit:meh: looks like someone has been there before as the clip on the actuator pipe is out of place.

Long shot but im still getting to grips with this engine... if it did have a 3 port one connected before and was mapped, could the ecu be sending signals to the stock solenoid thinking its an uprated one possibly causing an issue????? :thinking:

Hahaha! I finally found what was causing my ticking noise!!!!

Turns out the pin hole I had on the seam of my japshit manifold was route cause, I finally got round to plugging it with lots of weld and hey presto... no more tick

Strange though, would have thought id be getting the normal blowing note but hey, one problem solved, now onto the next

Any settings for a 3 port, then fitting std 2 port back on ... Would cause lower boost issues.
Maxing the settings out on a 2 port to get 1.5 bar would see over 2 bar on a 3 port

glad you sorted it . if you have a blow on one port of a exhaust manifold near the head esp the gasket then you will get a rythmic click or pop for every stroke of that piston if the blow was on or after the turbo when all 4 ports join then it will sound like just one blow as all 4 pops will over lap each other :0)

This is where it was right at the front of the manifold on the flange meeting the turbo, its a horrible bodge weld on it at the mo but hopefully ill have the stock manifold ready to put back on soon
