engine issues!!!!!!

hello i just bought an evo 4, and yesterday the engine cut out and would not start, i thought i had blown it up or the belt had snapped, but i just took the covers off and the top cams are in lign, but if you try to start it, the car sounds like it has no compression but then fires, but rattles really bad it has oil pressure coz the guage says so, i just dont really know what could be the problem coz i dont know enough about the engines. i have heard of crank walk but to be honest i dont have any idea what it is or what happens please can someone help me or give me some pointers thank you

crank walk is wen the crank wears and moves and normaly breaks the crank sessor if tat happens the car wil stop and only turn over but wount go. hav u got sum1 2 look at it yet?
