EBC brake pads on evo9

Hi I've replaced my pads on my FQ340 evo 9 with a set of yellow ebc brake pads I did the fronts about a month ago and the rears this week . Discs are Std and true in good condition . Since fitting the rear pads the brakes squeak like mad and are doing my head in . HELP !!!!!!!! Any ideas or advice would be grateful . Should I go back to STD pads on the rear ????

Did you put copper grease on the rear of the pads?
This should stop any sqeaks

Hi buddy, long time no post!!!

Did you clean the discs and callipers thoroughly making sure that you cleaned through the vents too???

Did you take the car on a private track and drive it at high speed and then brake hard 4 to 5 times to bed the pads in and then go on a short drive???

If your answers are no then that is why they squeal

Having said that, quite a few people I know that have fitted EBC pads are complaining all the time

* you should have had a bedding in procedure *each pad compound has thier own....my Pagids were x7 90-50mph (mid-peddle breaks) leaving a while for discs to cool between pumps of pedal,then x3 120-50mph (harder peddle breaks,with a few recovery pumps) ..bedded in a treat,and no squeeling issues to start.

I used to run EBC redstuff on my VIII,and found them not to be the greatest pad compound.
The yellow stuff pads are supposed to be better, but still IMO -not a good pad.

On my lastest brake change/set-up...

I took off my EBC crossdrilled,grooved and vented discs,and OEM brake lines,and pads.

they were re-placed with DBA 5000 2 piece floating discs that are slotted,and DBA 4000 1 piece slotted discs at rear,with HEL Ti braided brake lines,and Pagid RS 4-2 (blue's)brake pads rated to 600 degrees celsius operating temperature,and were not supposed to be "too harsh" on the discs.

I used Millars racing brake fluid too.

The difference is truly night and day,and the only problem I have is the brakes squeeeeel like a bi@tch now,but if I heat-cycle the brakes the squeel seems to go/dampen,and only really happen's when it comes to stand still.

I have been advised to re-fit pads using some ceratec paste between pad and shimm, you can also buy anti-squeel brake shimms , as the OEM brembo caliper on the Evo's are known for squeel.

I had yellow pads on mine had same prob and also terrible for braking from high speeds. Replaced them with blue stuff no noise and a better bite. Wouldn't touch yellow pads again. I threw mine away after 1000 miles.
