Hey guys..!

talked to my tuner about launchcontrol..He said that a good idea would be to move launchcontrol to like 6000rpm instead of 5000 rpm when we map the car.. what do you think about this...??

I'm not after supergreat grip, I want the wheels to spin little to save the tranny and keep boost up...

Don't really understand why the FQ models don't have LC...??

Are there many risks using LC often..??

I know a few FQ owners. and they say that LC just is bad.. the car don't last as long as their car.. because the LC wears to much on the engine......

It does place an additional strain on the engine due to the heat, then you have strain on the transmission too. It's not something I'd want to use all the time. I don't see the point in having the wheels spin either...it's not proper launch control, it's just a temporarily lowered rev limit If you're not maximising traction then there is no point in doing it.

This happened 15 miles later after being mapped with launch control and pop's and bang's on a standard 45,000 miles Evo VI engine:disgusted:

You should set it at the point just higher of your peak torque to get the best launch

It's a turbocharged AWD car Banging off the launch control limiter increases heat and pressure in the manifold and lets you build a small amount of boost that simply holding revs won't do.

All this talk about LC mapped on to a standard ecu is bollox.

It isn't really LC and found it no use at all when i had it on my car.
In fact i can get better 60ft times at the Pod with out it.
Learn to launch a car properly and you won't need it.

Sorry to jump on this mini thead jack but I've recently had quite a lot of work done including forged rods fitted, and just out of curiosity what do you consider a fully forged engine? Just forged pistons too or more?
