E7 knocking from right hand side

Hi all

The mrs E7 fq300 developed a clunking/knocking noise from the the drivers side front around a month ago.
Originally it was just when turning but started to do it in a straight line aswell. Had a quick look at the track rod ends and there was plenty play in 1 so had them changed yesterday but the noise is still there :hm:

The mrs thinks it has actually gone worse but im not too sure. Anybody had similar problems or got any ideas?

Check:
suspension top mounts
Suspension struts
If not, check your sub frame bolts, There is a long stud coming out the chasis which the sub frame bolts onto. This broke away and came loose on my 7, I had to get the stud welded back to the chasis.

I had a knocking noise coming from drivers front of my 8. It was when I was going round roundabouts or generally turning right at slower speeds. I tried cheapest thing first,that being the drop link but knocking still there. I spoke to a tech at Mitsi garage and told me it would be the strut. He said 7's,8's and 9's have problems with front struts. I put a set of coilovers on mine and the knocking noise has gone!

My subframe bolts weren't tight enough which was causing a knocking noise so that's worth checking. Also antiroll bar bushes. Anything suspension related can cause a knock same as any other car
