e4 running rich -> manual boost controller?

hi guys, Ive got an evo 4 which has started to run quite rich and I have several mechanics to check it but no one has found a solution to my problem. My car is stock and boost rises to 0.9bar. Once I put a manual boost controller when it used to run normal (not rich) but it started to have fuel cut problems and it stopped revving smoothly so I decided to take it off. Then I read somewhere that manual boost controller was not good for a stock e4 because I believe it already runs at max boost and perhaps thats why the fuel cut was happening.

So now that im running so freaking rich I was wondering what would happen if I reconnect the manual boost controller and maybe give it more air to improve the air/fuel ratio, am I right? Also one of the mechanics of which I took my car to told me that we should try fitting a fuel pressure regulator. But I didnt want it because I mean, why should I fit it something extra if I havent done anything to make it faster or gain more hps.

Well thats about it. How you can help me.

Thanks in advance

It's not quite as easy as pop a bigger filter on and job done there a bit more of a science to it, the car needs a map to calculate the afrs properly and to do that you need a 5+ ecu and injectors along with a fuel pump

How do you know it's running rich?
AFR reading's?
Std boost is 0.7 not 0.9!!
Boost cut normally comes in around 1.3bar

I know Im running rich because my car isnt burning fuel properly. It smokes black on idle and heavily when boost kicks in (I can see a black cloud coming from the exhaust thru the rearview mirror). It also smells quite heavily to fuel. My white boot is turning a bit black cuz of the smoke :( I dont have an AFR meter and I dont know if any mechanic has one here either. I know there must be more science involved its just that theres no good evo mechanics here in my city. It sucks! I wish I could have someone of trust to leave my car and know that it would look after it in every aspect.

So what would my alternatives would be? Is it ecu problem then? What can I do to make my ecu work properly? (Get correct AFR mixture) Ive tried reseting it disconnecting the battery and leaving it with the key in ignition or on. But nothing improved.

Resetting with key in ignition??? What does that do??

Any tuners or rolling roads near to you should have an AFR reader.
What injectors are fitted?
Any error codes, when you flash them out on dash?

According to my mechanic. If you disconnect the battery and then leave the car with the key on ingnition it "resets" ECu, but I dont know. He knows mostly about subarus so maybe thats for those cars?

Thats the worst thing, I believe nobodys got that AFR reader in my entire city. Ive just rechecked and found out that I have yellow injectors.

What do you mean about the error codes when I flash them out on the dash? You mean when I turn my car on? I dont get any errors just the SRS is on but thats because my car was tranformed to left hand drive.

I mean, when I put the key on ignition all lights come on on the dash and then when I turn the car on all the lights go off (but SRS as I said).

Ill look forward for someone who could check my codes. :(

Thank you
