Anyone used these guys? Planning on taking my car down at the weekend for a couple of tweeks.

Read some good stuff about them, just wondering on anyone's experience on here :)

I used them , i was lucky
My mate used them once, he had even more luck all 4 plugs left loose.
Northy used them and it cost him a new engine after 90 miles the choice is yours.

Had mine mapped at Dwr, wanted pops n bangs, he brought it back to me after mapping and said he couldn't put pops n bangs on cause its a tommi mak n they are different ecu, but I've heard tommi mak ecu can but I don't know cause I ain't a clue lol, but it is a lot quicker lol

Pops and bangs is nothing to do with the ecu. It's more likely you have a problem with your SAS system.

Somebody else has said that to me before, so what's the sas system n y couldn't he say its the sas system if he is a mapper instead of saying its my ecu, he oviously doesn't know what he's on about, my opinion :)

I nearly bought an ecu of a member on here so that would of been a waste of £100 as that's what he wanted, it's a good job we have members on here that know there stuff :) well done lads lol

Well, there's a number of reasons, but if he was talking about the ecu, the tommi ecu has a ralliart rom on there, in its stock form there is no ALS settings on there unless you modify the XML code a bit or change the rom

Mechanically, could be sas valve knackered, pipes blocked, solenoid faulty, dump valve type, vacuum acumulator cracked, all sorts of stuff

sbn1979: Would you be up for this job?

Your much closer, I kind of messed up when looking at dwr I thought they were up thus way then realised they are in chesterfield, THEN thanks to this place realised they aren't any good.

Do you do repairs as well as mapping?

For combustion you need an ignition source, fuel and oxygen, and your engine does a damn fine job of making sure there is enough fuel and oxygen, and the ignition comes from the spark plug. To pop/bang there needs to be combustion after the engine (ie in the exhaust system),and for that you need fuel, oxygen, and heat is the ignition source. A standard car won't pop and bang as although there is plenty of heat in the exhaust system, there is little oxygen and fuel in the exhaust gasses as they've been burned up in the engine. With some tweaks to the ecu it can ensure there is more than normal amounts of petrol in the exhaust gasses when you let off, but you still lack oxygen so you might get a little pop when the exhaust gasses meet the outside air. What SAS does (Secondary Air System) is inject air into the exhaust system...so with the ecu tweak giving fuel, the exhaust having natural heat, and the SAS providing the oxygen you have an environment where combustion can occur, so you get pops and bangs which is the petrol igniting in the exhaust system. If any of the three components is missing, you get no pops and bangs. We know your ecu can do the petrol, and we know your exhaust gasses are hot enough, so if your car doesn't pop and bang it is most likely your SAS system not working.

I think I want the pops and bangs turning off, is it possible to enable pops and bangs onto launch control?? Or is that just anti lag and me misunderstanding something? Lol.

Also got a strange vibration when cornering hard right, and a clunk when I rock the steering wheel from side to side (engine off) that comes from the passenger side front. So ideally the front steering etc inspecting and hopefully cure the problems.

Yes can do that for you, does the knock happen alot at slow speed or only full lock in one direction ?

Why do you want pops and bangs off? Annoying or too much?

I'm finding pops and bangs a bit annoying it kinda happens more when going steady, I'd rather have it when hooning it lol.

Not low speed, more high speed hard right, doesn't do it when doing hard lefts at all.

Iv had a read up about it and the worst I could imagine is the bolts on the diff could have snapped?? Don't know if that sounds right. If it is are you guys able to fix that?

When could I drop it off? I can easily leave the car with you guys too, it doesn't go out much in winter so won't be missed for a week or so.
