Dilemma

In a bit of a rush as getting ready for work but I received a letter from my insurance company saying they are very sorry about my accident 2 weeks ago, please fill in the form,
Eh! So I rang them up and they say I had hit someone which then ploughed into a parked car, but I never left my details at the scene, the other driver was arrested at the scene???
I said that would be quite hard as I was nowhere near there or have ever been there,
I was at home all day and had friends round,
Now they want to send an engineer round to inspect my car,
Am I being scammed or simple case of mistaken identity, SCAMMED!!
Do I get in touch with the police or sit tight,

Ring the police and tell your insurance company

One for the police to get involved with. What they are saying would put you down for failure to stop and failure to report an accident which can be less than fantastic. Defiantly not one to ignore and sit tight on!

Thing is if I go to the police and inform them of my concern il probably
Get pulled over all the time, I've had the car nearly 4 years and never
Been stopped by the rozzers,
Now looking at a new reg plate maybe

If you weren't there or the car. You have nothing to worry about. You have witnesses to say you weren't there. They need evidence you were there.
Just explain the situation. Don't sit back and wait.

Get your insurances number off you policy so you know its definatly them....could be a scam! I think the police would have give you a knock if you had failed to stop at an accident.....maybe someone has cloned your plate an running it on a stolen evo?? An thats why the didnt stop?? Definatly ring the police mate

Apparently it's a common newish angle for the scammers
30,000 claims a year where they say they was hit then crashed
Into another car and drove off, they probably own the parked car as well
Never had anything like this, and never ever made a claim
Why get a job and work eh!!
