different colour dials

Right, got my evo 6 and im unsure as to which model it actually is. Seem to be getting conflicting info.

Some say the GSR, Others the RS and a few have said its the Ralli-Art.
How can i find out. there is'nt a sticker or plaque by the gear stick with a number on it but ive been told that imports dont always have them. The place i bought it form knew nothing more than the fact it was a import.

And, my dials are blue except the speedo which is white with a Ralli-Art logo on it. Its printed in Kmh but it actually reads in Mph if that makes sense. Whats that all about??? should'nt they all be one colour.:thinking:

look under the car at the back right hand side if there pump with some pipe's coming out of it head toward's the diff ,then its got ayc and its a gsr!

Dials can be changed. Logos or plaques added or removed. Does the dash have an AYC light come up in the middle when you turn the ignition on? Yes means GSR model as would having climate control elec windows and mirrors. RS has none of these.
Ralliart or TME or Extreme would have different body work like front bumper. Get a pic up of front?

Tommi makenien also has red seats instead of blue, and has a sticker on the bootlid, bumpers can be changed though so I wouldn't go by what bumper it has, or stickers cos they can be removed too

I can't see someone fitting a std bumper inplace of a TME or extreme bumper lol

Thanks all, ive checked and it has got the pump at the rear with the 2 pipes exiting towards the diff. No AYC light on the dash though.

I have a TME bumper, but I don't have a TME, if you go onto the DVLA's website and type in your reg the model should come up there

If it has AYC then I'd check to see if the bulb has been taken out if it has then that could be an expensive job to get sorted :shock:

Get that light on the dash checked tho. All lights should come up when you turn ignition on as a preliminary check

Thats the news i was dreading Foxy.

The day i got it i tried to insure it and it was registered as a FTO. Still a 4 door saloon but the model was wrong. lol. Had a hell of a game getting it sorted.

Made my a*se twitch a little seeing as id already paid for it!!! lol

Wont be doin that again in a hurry.

When i went to view my car there was no ayc light so i mentioned it to the guy selling it, he checked and it was just a blown bulb which was lucky as i wouldnt have bought it if it ayc problem, check the bulb mate could be a easy fix

Will do mate. I'm dreading it now. Ive just noticed its got a leak on the rad too.

I knew it was gonna be expensive to run one of these, Just didnt realise it was gonna be so soon. lol :shock:

Did you buy if from a garage or private seller?

Some insurance companies don't always get the model right though I've had a mare getting it right cos it was an
import that had been registered in Japan when it came over here it had to get registered on a different plate so insurance companies don't recognise it by reg only by model and sometimes they have got that wrong lol

Hope it is just a blown bulb though, but to be honest if it has gone then you can drive your car with no AYC, it's not gonna damage your car, just disconnect it, you might find it already has been disconnected if no light is coming on, it's not a necessity to have it though.

No ABS light comes on mate and i know it dont work cause i had a tit an a BM pull straight out in front of me and i virtually had to stand on them to get it to stop!!!

Had a proper look under the bonnet last night and there seems to be a lot of things disconnected. Air con for one is def gone.

Got it booked in @ Hi-Tech for a health check so fingers crossed.

Serves myself right for buying with my heart not my head. Got caught up in the moment i think.

I'd be tempted to go back to the garage and kick up a fuss, cos they should do a full check on the car before selling it, unless it goes to auction then they don't really give a monkeys about it lol.

The shoot I have put up dates to see when's best for everyone, I'm gonna say the first weekend in October cos any later then that and the weather is gonna be an issue
