Decat exhaust

Hi there everyone! Im thinking to buy a 3" decat exhaust system for my evo 6 and was wondering what the best one would be and if there is any problems with taking the cat out other than emmitions at MOT?

Do you mean just a de-cat cos you can buy any of them cos it's just a bit of pipe with a flange on either end.
Or you can get silenced de-cat pipes which are a little wider with baffles around the sides but still with a clear 3" bore

If you buying a 3inch decat exhaust system then there are a few on the Market hks, blitz, miltek, magnex and mongoose. Alternatively you could go to a company like longlife etc who would customise you an exhaust system. Any of them are good but hks. Miltek or blitz are the best I would say it's upto you

I will look into those systems. Will it just be a case of gettin the system fitted and away I go! Or Is there any thing else I will have to do along with fitting it? Thanks.

i dont think you will have many probs with mot as there are no records of emissions on the 6 i have been told so they cant fail you

Will I need a remap or anything along with it or will it be fine without any of that?

it will be ok without remap but to make the most of the gains map it mate. i would do all the stage 1 mods and get all mapped together

What would i hav to do and How much horsepower would I get from a stage 1 tune up?

generally stage 1 consists of decat, boost controller, boost gauge, fuel pump remap

what car have you got buddy what power is it as it all depends on your base and the mapper

I have a standard evo 6 gsr import. Any idea what this would cost?

walbro255 fuel pump 70 quid delivered
decat about 50 quid delivered
boost gauge starts from around 30 quid
boost controller a manual one about 30 quid or electronic which ir recommended starts from about 150 or you could use a 3 port and have it mapped in and they are 45 quid

gains you could be looking anywhere between 50-80bhp gain
