Dash backlights not working.

Hello.

I'm Steve. I'm new here and new to Evos. I've always wanted one and today I picked up an Evo 7 in very good condition with a few mods. I'm really happy with it.
I'm not that clued up on cars though. I've done a lot of reading and asking questions of people who know more than me. I'm learning.
Anyway, the backlights on the speedo and stuff are not working. I only just noticed when it got dark. I assume they should just come on when the headlights are on and there's no way of just turning them on and off at will.
It's probably a fuse, right? How can I find out which one? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm sure the backlighting comes on when you first start the car so in effect they are on all the time

I have googled the problem and tried to find a diagram or manual page which will show me which fuse does those backlights. I've found the images but I can't see which fuse exactly. Does anyone know?

Dash lights are usually fused together with one of these circuits.

Is there a diferent radio fitted? Maybe the fuse for one of the above blew while someone fitted or removed a radio as there usually is a wire in the radio DIN harness for dash illumination.

All the other lights work. Even the little warning lights and such on the same console as the speedo etc. There is an after market CD player fitted. Could it be a bulb and not a fuse?

Could be, remove the cluster and look behind it.

put the steering to its lowest position, undo the cover around the column..4 screws Mr thinks, then look at the instrument bezel,remove the screws (feel around to find em across the upper inner section)

Then remove and you'll be left with the cluster,its held in by 3 or 4 screws. Undo the connectors and Look for the Bulbs at the back

i dont have a 789 sitting here,but a mates breaking one,but sadly the dash is already out so No usefull piccys to help you.

Thanks. I followed the steps and located the blown bulbs. I'll order some and fit them myself. Thanks again.
