Daily Drivers and Their Tyres

Is it me or are Evos greedy tyre munchers? I have owned my 6 for two and a half years and currently on my third set... T1Rs, ZV5s and now noticeably eating away at Potenza RE050s.
I have never done a track day, cover no more than 100 miles per week and the wear is even across the tread so I know it is not due to suspension issues.
I'll admit my first year of driving was spirited :p but gradually I became more and more controlled (petrol prices spring to mind :disgusted: )

It might be normal, I don't know any different so I'm hoping some daily drivers could tell me their experiences.

Its normal mate. Im on the new vredesteins n theyr quite good. Going to try the new hankook evo nxt time but i get about 5k out of a set. I regularly rotate them front to rear. Bridgestones are too harsh a ride for me and far too soft.

All depends on -
Driving style
Tyre compound
Road condition

Aggressive style
Soft compound
Harsh road condition
Equals rapidly warn tyres lol

The set on the front of my motor have been on there since I bought it (around 2 1/2 years ago) - they're crappy Falken somethings but have lasted forever.

Have got Yokohama 306s on the rear and they've only lasted around 12-18 months. Again very even wear but I do drive hard (in a straight line most of the time!)

Toyo proxys my car eats, and yoko's too, but mine has been due to tracking, so far the past 6 months the tyres have been ok, surprisingly as they are crappy budget ones I put on to pass an MOT ! :)

I've had Falken FK452's on mine for the past 12 months and they're still looking good.
Should last me another 12 months easy :)

I have hankook ventus v12 evo on mine.. I have had them on for a year and 4 months.. Not a bad all round tyre.. The car is driven twice weekly or so.. Still plenty of treat left on them

Not sure how they would fair up if used hard or more regular though

My Dad uses FK452s on his R32 Skyline and they have lasted for a good couple of years. Admittedly its a toy to him so he rarely uses it but I have heard great things about Falkens and the wear rate. Maybe 452s are the ones I try next...

Sounds like Foxy has it right, buy exactly the same budget tyres she has :)

I've been through 2 sets of potenza re050's on the rear of mine since last nov.

They were both pretty much destroyed on track days though. It seems pretty good otherwise.

I've now changed to 070's so well see how they do.
