Im new to evo's got my first (Evo 8) one a month ago. :D

Already my front left side CV joint has started knocking  and my mechanic tells me that the CV joint on the 8 cannot be replaced on its own and i need to purchase a new front drive shaft  i am also told that that i can only use the overpriced Mitsubishi part but Mitsubishi are out of stock!:mad::mad::mad:

Does anyone know if I really have to replace the whole drive shaft? or is there an alternative or compatible part?

You can't buy a cv joint by itself for an 8, cams kill sell ones of a 6 but not 100% sure if they will fit.

Buy a second hand shaft, be your best bet..

Replaced mine a month or so ago, was sent the wrong side shaft so knocked off the joint and fitted.

I agree. Buy a second hand one, I'm not on here often but they show up on the mlr a fair bit!

I got a part off a lad local to me breaking a 7, who was helpfull. He may still have the driveshafts!?

Drop me a message, and I'll give you his number to txt/ call if you want!

Wasn't much on the mlr when I was after one. There are a few traders with them Martin@epp has some.

Worth an ask bud you never know. Its hard to find them for a good price.

I'm sorted thanks bud.. Well unless I can get a near side cheap enough someone has made a mess taking the shaft off, thread doesn't look the best.
