crunch from 3rd to 4th??

my evo 8 260 runs fine right through the gears when driving normally but if im really bollocking it, it proper crunches from 3rd to 4th liike the clutch isnt even down, ive adjusted the clutch pedal right up and im pushing the clutch all the way to the floor but it still does it. when im driving normally its absolutly sound. any ideas?? its done it ever since ive had it..... if you let the revs drop off before changing then its ok, but this is no good for speed!!

When was the gearbox oil last changed ? Drop it out and re fill with some silcolene slktran 5 or Fuchs Titan race as it's known as 75/90

New oil is first mate like lee says if not new box or poss replace synchro

hi, how much of this oil do i need to buy? one site i read says 2.8ltrs and another says 3.3 litres, dont really wanna buy 4 litres if i only need 3 litres.

Get it from opie oils. Fuchs Titan 75/90 and yea 2.8 for just the gear box. Or buy 5 litres and do the rear diff and transfer box as well

ordered 3ltrs of it from opie hopefully ill get time to change it on saturday, ill let you know if it cures it, my dad had the gear oil changed when he owned the car but maybe he used crap stuff in it?
diff oil and high pressure oil has been changed but the transfer box hasnt, is this easy to do??

changed my oil on saturday it has improved the issue but not solved it, its like you have to give it time to spool down a little before putting it into gear you cant just ram it from 3rd to 4th when its under high revs, its not a massively annoying issue, will see how it goes for a bit!

i'm doing oil on mine soon too.

I have 5 spd box. it crunches 4th to 5th when giving it the beans but ok under normal driving.

Also I find 1st to 2nd difficult when cold but easier as it warms up.

I'll update when done but forever the pessimist me so assume the synchros have gone"!

will be synchro and probably the selctor sleeve that needs changing
