Couple of newbie questions

Hi all,

My name is kerry and im going to be posting a sale thread up soon for my friends 2005 evo 9 fq340 which im going to be helping him sell.
Ive always loved evos and hope to be in a possision to be the owner of one soon, currently i drive an EP3 civic type R.
Got a couple of questions if anyone can help - wanted to know if you bought say an FQ300 would it be in a cheaper insurance and tax bracket than an FQ400? and what are the main improvments to the 9 over the 8? ive heard the 9 uses an upgraded turbo?

Hi and welcome.

Insurance probably would be more on the higher hp models.
The 9s are based on 8MR with better turbo, mivec, upgraded bumpers, lights and seats. There's prob a few other small changes which I can't think of at mo, but am sure someone will be along shortly who can add

Differences are as above between the 300 and 400 as for the tax bracket it's actually down to who imported it in the first place I think it's a grey area for example I have the fq300 and I pay 118 quid for 6 months tax (less than my mates gsi haha) but someone else who has an fq300 could be paying the higher bracket but it's the same car
