Continued intermittent running problems

Morning all,

I talked about a random starting problem I am having with my evo 7.

Car will work fine for weeks and then can go out to t one day and it won't fire, it turns over but won't start. The fix I have found for this is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and away we go.

This happened the other day and I applied the above remedy. However since then the engine seems to be running like a dog. It's fine when in gear and running but as soon as you come out of gear and the revs get towards the 1000 mark it starts acting like its going to stall but never does (believe this is described as hunting?)

The odd thing I have found is that if the car is on the tiniest of slopes (front of the car higher than the rear) it seems to behave itself.

Is this likely to be the fuel pump?
Is it worth changing the fuel relays to try and solve the starting issues, I'm assuming disconnecting the battery is obviously resetting something??

Disconnecting the battery usually meens you'll need an idle reset.
Once reconnected
Start and run for 10min with no electrics
Then continue with all electrics on for further 10 mins
Then take for 15-20 min drive

Change fuel filters before relays. In tank and inline filter.

When you say all electrics, that mean everything lights, radio a/c, hazards. The lot?

Yes
You could even go as far as to do the Windows up and down for the 10 min aswell. But you don't have to lol
