Considering my first Evo, Need advice!

Currently own a 2008 RenaultSport Clio 197 Cup. Its a fantastic car but i've owned it for two years and i want more power + i've always wanted an evo and now i may possibly be able to afford it.

Basically the model i want is the 8 i think... ( the one with the centre section on the bumper? ),For insurance purposes its going to have to be the 320 model. Preferably in the dark grey colour, Must be standard and low mileage.

What sort of things should i look out for on these cars. Any known major problems? am i better off with a different model and can the lower models ( 320 etc ) be upped to the 360 models etc with modifying at a later date?

Any extra info on variour models or this particular would be much appreciated .

If you have time and can trawl through my posts then you will come across one with detailed test drive checks that will ensure you do not end up with a shed!!

The VIII is great, all I can say is get shot of that girly clio and get the manly VIII asap buddy

Is it easy to get the lesser powered evos upto say 360 spec with some small mods? ( intercoolers, remaps, manifolds etc. )

Im thinking of going through extreme UK who specialise in 2nd hand evos. Anybody used this company before?

alright mate. just my ponit of view but if your after a good evo 8 extreme uk are good but are about 1-2 k more expensive than any other company. try j performance i got my 9 from them and it was mint. jan only deals with high performance cars with low miles. he's on pistonheads.
you've gotta get one quick the difference from your clio will blow your mind!!!

I have to agree with mike, eXtreme are great but their prices are on the up side. If you do find that they have the one you are after and the price is good then just make sure that it has not been remapped by them, if they offer the service then make sure you refuse it regardless of however cheap it may be. They use PJ Motorsports who is an idiot and he generally tends to blow engines up rather then tune them.

I was surprised to hear that PJ does all of their work, I am further surprised to learn that eXtreme have not cottoned on to the fact that PJ is a clown that does not know the boot lid from the bonnet
