Clutch or flywheel?

Hi guys, can any one help me??

I have a GSR Evo 8 that i've had for just over a month. I purchased the car from my brother which he bought when it was just a couple of years old so i know the history very well.

Around 9k miles ago he had the clutch replaced and a re con (skimmed) flywheel fitted, OEM parts.

I was driving the car at the weekend pretty steady when over around 4 mins the clutch started to slip really bad end up with it coming to almost a complete stop!

The clutch pedal itself feels no different, but when i shift into gear and release the clutch, I dont go anywhere????? Well accept from snail pace......Literally snail pace!!!!!!!

Please help, I know you guys are really clued up compared to me!!!!

has the car been driven hard/launched much as it hasn't lasted very long.

Are you sure you never gave it a couple of launches as they do not burn out all of a sudden unless they have shredded.

Isn't that just the same and put similar kinda stress on the clutch lol

surely it can handle fast pull offs?????

When the clutch is all the way out the only just moves along.

Helix organic is like the holy Grail of all clutches.

Stock feel
Stock responce
No juddering
And doesn't mind traffic at all
And you can launch it and run up to 450ft lb of torque

Pm antony@indigo-gt I'd recommend the helix organic which isn't cheap but dam it's a good clutch as I mentioned above. Would help to future proof it to cos if you decide to upgrade power then this will handle alot more power than alot of others.
I put 460bhp through mine for 12 month 7,000 miles with no problems and launched it a few times

It's a single plate clutch and so it doesn't rattle and easier to use but from what I can remember they are £500 odd quid but bare in mind a twin plate will cost over £1000

Been to the garage thats took on the clutch/flywheel job. They just got into the transmission. But DAM there were alot of parts that had to come off!!!

Hello everybody greedings from Cyprus, i am new in the forum and i want some help pls.
I am considering on buying an Evo 8...
I'am between
1) a stock Evo 8 Gsr
2) and an upgraded Evo 8 Gsr which has been tuned with an Evo 9 brand new turbo and gear box
(both cars are in the same price.)

My question is, is it better to buy the tuned one?? or should I be afraid for some problems due to this upgrade and buy the stock one ?????And why in both cases??
