clutch gone from bad to worse

i posted the other day about my clutch not allowing me to get into gear, since then i have flushed it through with fresh fluid and bled it up, took her out and it was perfect (about 10 mile)then tonight i was taking the daughters friend home and again everything was fine ON THE WAY THERE started her up to come home to no clutch as in nothing at all (had to be towed home) the clutch was only fitted last week at a garage.. any ideas anyone just im starting to lose faith now and the wife is... you no the rest lol

I'd say they've fitted something wrong. Or you have a major air lock. Does it work after you've pumped the pedal a good few times?

If you bled it up and it worked fine for a while then you dont need to worry about the assembly inside the gearbox, it will more likely be the master or slave that has a duff seal allowing air into the system causing you to lose the pedal. Can happen after installing a new clutch as the pressure will be higher than before.

Check the fluid level, and see if you can spot any leaks or wetness around the master and on the slave, you should peel back the rubber boot around the rod to see if you have a leak there.

havnt tried pumping the pedal yet but i got out of the car while it was in gear and running

the pedal feels normal and i had a good look for leaks when we bled the system everything was dry

remove the slave cylinder on the front the gearbox and pull out the rubber grommet that's behind it and around the clutch fork.
next with a torch and I think a 10mm spanner check the clutch cover is still bolted to the flywheel.

youll need to rotate the flywheel to get to each bolt as it comes round. to do this id take the spark plugs out and using a half inch ratchet and extension just rotate the crank.

What make is the clutch kit? Any ideas if the pedal hight was adjusted after installation?

cheers b6lee but when i looked through the inspection grommet it all seemed to look fine and in place but obviously cant tell if the bolts are tight the garage thet fit the clutch apparently have a lot of experience with evos, and jakemac the clutch was from techniclutch and is a fast road. the pedal has been adjusted to a hegher posision than before

Personally I still think its the hydrolics side of operation, I know techniclutch dont have the best reputation but facts are that it has worked fine after instalation and then again after being bled. Have you checked the clutch master from inside the car?

will check in the morning to se what that looks like i was just wondering whether it would be worth getting the bleeding kit back on it but dont no if that the hydraulics would cause the unmistakeable clutch smell

the fact you said that you can step out the car with it running and in gear shouts out to me that the clutch is slipping.

am I right in thinking you can select any gear you like release the clutch pedal but have no drive ?

and with regards to the pedal feel, plenty of resistance when pushing it down but no sense or feeling that its biting when you let it out ??

think it was techni direct but you exactlly right about the car can get all the gears and cant feel any hint of a bite on the way up absoloutlly gutted yet again

I think they will only replace the item but wont refund. there customer service is about as shite as there clutches.

chin up mate, might just be the cover bolts. id be checking them first
