Clutch and flywheel upgrade

Im wanting to do a "rod job" on my evo 8 MR. Firstly does anyone recommend a good place in the south west to get it done ? And secondly can anyone recommend a good clutch to cope with 500ish bhp. And also what is a good lightweight flywheel to go for?

First of all, you looking at running 450 or you going for the 500 ? Cos if you stopped at 450-470 then a helix organic clutch will do you and feel no different to standard as it's just a normal single plate. If your gonna exceed 450ft/lb of torque then you'll need a exedy twin plate

As Lee said plus if you go for exedy you get a lightened flywheel with the kit.

Im planning on getting 500bhp + does anyone know about helix 6 paddle, paddle clutch? Ive been told that will cope with 500bhp + and it has a stock ish feel to it

Firstly, if you're going over 500 I'd say for the extra few 100 get the pistons dropped in too.

Secondly, that much power will want a twin plate as a paddle clutch will be a proper pain in the arse.

And lastly, Norris designs are around that way too.

Ok thanks, whats the difference in a twin/single plate clutch? Just the feel?

Twin will take much more torque and feels pretty much like a stock clutch. A single with similar capability will be pretty much on or off and your leg will be throbbing after a few miles in traffic lol.
