Changing Brake Discs/Pads Front and back

Hello,
I have bought some new discs and pads to go on my Evo 6. I popped down the local garage and they quoted me something ridiculous for putting them on!

Just wondered if there is a guide on the forum for changing these with pictures?

Also any tips and tricks to getting the pistons back and adjusting the hand brake would be muchly appreciated!!

If it's anything like the 8 there are 2 18 mm nuts on the back of the Caliper remove these pull the disc off, change pads one by one pushing pistons back as you go, loosen the brake fluid cap and keep an eye, once pads are in put back together or you can put Caliper back on before you put pads in, there are 2 pins in the top of the Caliper punch these out the back and pads slide out the top.

Had to do this the other day real easy, I'm not 100% they are the same but brakes are usually quite straight forward when you get the wheel off

Do the pins have to be knocked out in a certain direction? or both ways?

Are the discs easy to remove?

Do the brake lines need to be bled after changing these?

Pins knock out from front to back.

Unless you remove the brake line which you don't need to do, no the system don't need to be bled. Front to back like Chris says, can be quite stubborn, don't forget the copper grease

Without Caliper in place discs should fall off they are held on securely by the wheel

I had a feelin the handbrake is an internal drum and separate from the main braking system, again I could be wrong I'm sure one of the other guy on here could help more. Usually toadjuat the hanbrake there is a lock nut you loosen and tighten or even a simular set up like brake adjusters on a bike

Ok no worries, It was just the guy in the garage said that by changing the rear discs the handbrake would also need adjusting.

In total they said it would take 4 hours charging £50 / hour!

My reply get lost!
