Not sure I understand this thread, are you saying that because you have a picture of a black damaged IX that all black IXs are cat d write-offs? 
As for the link, as it is a dealer, they are legally obliged to declare cat d write-offs (section 3.6 of Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008), and the money he is asked is way to much if it is a cat d.
