Hi all,
have fitted some Carbon mirrors to my IX, but not sure whether i should use the plastic/rubber gaskets off my original folding mirrors or whether i need to use a sealant behind the new mirrors to stop water ingress & wind noise :thinking:, anyone got the answer?
Thanks in advance.

Should be fine with the original rubbers as long as they mate up to the mirror properly.

use stthe standard rubber foam stuff..

@all

if you ever had to fit mirrors,and the standard rubber foam doesnt fit..go to any Artscrafts store,you can buy the foam rubber bits there and cut em to the size you want. or a well sorted flooring store,they seem to have these bits too

usually about 8 quid for a 12"x12" bit..you can make loads of mirror backing seals from it.

oh,make sure it says "EPDM" on the packaging,as thats the weather/waterproof version. you cn also buy it on rolls,in many thicknesses and widths..ideal for curing creaking noises on interior bits ,or when fitting gauges to make em fit snug..radios that fly out during launches etc.
