Do evo`s come limited?
How easy are they to de-limit???

or is it the fact that i do not have a full exhaut system from the turbo back so there is no free flow for the exhaust emissions and too much back pressure is building up:confused:

this is a delimiter comes with instructions to wire but can't tell you how cos i got my mechanic to do it.
for my iv it delimited my top end from the limited 115mph to flatout,
and changed my clocks from kmh to mph. (not needed on your viii though i gather)

but i did'nt see any difference in perfomance upto 115mph, so i don't think this is your problem. but here is the link anyway

Cheers for the reply Di.

But i have a feeling you are right it feels like i just need to free up the back pressure with a 3" exhaust system.

I would get my mechanic to do it too just to have the proffesional workmanship. No i wouldn`t need it to convert the speedo to mph the dials have both MPH in large numbering and underneath in small numbering is the speed in KPH. I only just noticed that today whilst drivin

Thought all EVO`s were technically imports. :p

But you are correct rule of thumb is all import vehicles are normally restricted

I do not think your car is restricted buddy.

Get it past the 115mph for confirmation and let us know what happened;)

When was it last serviced and what mods are in place already?

I think that a 3" system will work wonders;)

not all evo`s are restricted to 112mph,only imports as thats a japanese thing so im told but most evo`s built in uk were limited to 155mph

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong

even if the car was limited to 112mph that wouldnt stop power through the rev range

Will do El,
The car was last serviced by Nissan before i bought it but the prevous owner serviced it at Mitsubishi at 44,000 so its not due one soon but im going to book it in for full oil change diff and everytin.:D

Car only has a back box fitted otherwise it is standard, apart from the Baileys but that thing doesnt really count

You are right in that assumption buddy, I am kind of thinking that the kid is used to a V6 engine that is known to have the road run out on it before it has maxed out in 3rd gear!

Could be that he is going through the gears a lot faster then he expected:eek:

Either way, he probably has a standard exhaust with sport cat which could do with disappearing altogether;)

The car pulls through the rev ranges easy it just feels like it can give more but the crappy exhaust system is stopping from it from free flowing basically that what it really feels like. basically a tiger on a lead can do damage but just needs to be freed up:D
