Can you get away with budget intercooler piping?

If there's no size difference and the mandrel bends are ok, can you get away with it?

I had a friend who made his own pipes and bends, she spent a fortune then to be found out it was restricting his car, not sure how or why....

Just buy a 8Mr hard pipe kit

If there is no difference in size and the bends are all in the right place then I don't see why there should be a problem.

Inner diameter is where the measurements should be taken from.

Pipe is pipe. As has been said already, as long as the bends are smooth and it fits it will be fine.
