A ticking sound is normally lifters... how long have you ha them in? I put some on my 8 couple of weeks ago after putting cams, valve springs and turbo on first start up i expected it to be slightly noisey untill they filled up with oil but they stayed like that which made me worry! Any way went to it the day after and it had quietened down slightly so i started it up and tunring off repeatedly and after a few goes was fine....quiet as a mouse ;) did you bleed the lifters before fitting them, were they pre oiled? And if 8 gsr cams fit iv got a set here ;)

Thanks Andy for the reply!!
yea they are brand new lifters and they have been bled prior to changing. everything has been put back together and it is still making the lifter noise. i will drain oil in a few days or maybe today if i can and check with fresh engine oil. i did start on and off for a short while till it warmed up but could still hear it. Not sure if evo 8 cams fit can somebody confirm on here thanks!!

Take the rocker cover off and press down on the rocker arms and see if you have a spongy one.....you'll have to turn the crank so the lobe on the cam is up on each one (so there not pressing on the arm) if you have one or more that are soft there not filled up properly yet....

There is a slight possibilty one of them is a dud even tho they are brand new.... did you remove the cams to put them in? Iv seen people on youtube doing evo8 ones without removing them but unsure about yours
