Cam belt

Just taken my eve 7 in for a cam belt behind the cam belt is a little belt and it has shaped any ideas wot this is for

its a balance shaft belt . if it has snapped then you are lucky not to have killed the engine " as they can make the cam belt fail and kill the crank sensor to :O(

Yea a snapped balance shaft belt on my VII caused the cambelt to jump several teeth which resulted in bent valves. Consider yourself very luck indeed. Now go buy a lotto ticket and remember who we are when you win

Check the timing is still in. They can snap and go round the cam sprocket quite easily, there's still potential it could be out by a tooth

It's sorted now new cam belt water pump!
Good news I have found out iv got a set of tomei cams in it!
