Hiya, I am looking at spending around £6k max in the near future, ive just got rid of a r33 skyline so its got to be something exciting, an evo is about the only car I havent had yet lol I have found some really nice 4's up to some not bad 6's in the same price bracket, ideally id like to spend less than 6. Can anybody give me some good advice on them and opinions on models etc please.
Cheers
Jay

when i went looking i had about the same money and was advised on here to go for a better 5 rather than maybe, a dog of a 6. there are nice 6 out there for that price but usually a bit higher. if you prefer the looks of the 4 then see if you could get one of the later models with the better bottom end or even a 6 engine in. and with the brembo brake conversion too. :D

your best off with a 5 imo ;)

Ive found a nice 4 on ebay in white for £4k which would be perfect, on paper the performance looks simular, but I know know much about them overall? What sort of realistic mpg can you get whe driving sensible?

well obviously i get shite mpg when i drive to work as it is only 6 miles and thats driving normally... but on average id say 20 driving sensible.

i dont know if this is the case or not but i hear with an uprated fuel pump it is a bit better?? but dont quote me on that. :whistling:

It certainly looks tidy from the photos but don't be suckered in by that (like I did when buying mine >.<)

Also white is currently the most sort after colour so can't go wrong there!

As for some photos of the engine bay, might give some clues as to if it has been modified or not.

Or ask the garage if they have any receipts for work to should upgrades.

Looks like it has Brembos on it so plus point would be it's had a brake upgrade

Best thing for you to do is have a look at a few different cars and see which is the best for your budget

Go have a look underneath them too. They're not undersealed as standard and the road salt soon gets to them. Even the UK 6's and onwards. Which is why i'm doing my 9 at the end of the summer :)
