Broken valves

So I taxed and insured my Evo 4 on Tuesday after it being off the road since October. Yesterday it got home like this

I initially thought it had broken the cambelt but after removing the top cover the belt was ok. I stripped it down today and found both cambelt and balance belt ok and the timing still spot on.
After taking the head off I found this

It seems that one of the valve heads broke off and destroyed the head and piston in the process.
So that's the end of Evo ownership for me for a while. Will be selling as it is due to not having the time or motivation to repair it.
Hopefully will be back in a newer Evo before too long.

Yeah certainly not what I was expecting to find. I can't see its worth the time, effort or cost to fix so it's going as is.
Caz wants an e7 so will be looking to get one hopefully by the end of this year.

Never seen valves break before. Well only in cases where a belt has snapped and timing is out so valves have snapped due to impact with piston.
I take it valves are straight just the ends have fell off ?

Make me an offer mate. It's got Evo 8 wheels, Evo 5 spoiler, cusco strut brace, hks ssqv valve. Pretty much standard other than those bits.

Ah I don't know enough about the car or Evo's in general to make an offer to you that won't offend you or promise more money than I have! I don't want to do either. I would like a nice project to work on so I was really just wondering if this was a feasible option. If you want to PM me a rough estimate or something I can work out if it's a possibility or not. Cheers!

Std 4 engine still in it?
Worth around 2k I'd suggest. Another 2k for a running engine put in. Rob get some pic's up and check everything under the car for rust. Will give you a good idea of price.

I had no idea what it's worth either to be honest. I was just going to stick it on eBay and see what happens. Lol.
Yeah it's still the original engine.
I will get it in the air over the weekend and check for rust and let you know.

Just had a look underneath. There's a reasonable amount of light surface rust. Nothing that a wire brush and some underseal wouldn't stop / fix. The only rust that I can see that's any worse is by the outer rear diff mounting points, no holes there but worse than just surface. Is there any other common places to check for ?
