You can tidy up by cleaning, remove peeling laquer and re laquer that brings em back to red surprisingly enough, I did it with mine a lil while ago. Alternatively you can remove them clean up sand back respray and laquer or attempt it on the car just a lot to mask up

id mask stuff up with cling film too. ;-) easy to use and its faster than taping paper up etc. re laquer is probably your best option though.

Cling film..... I never thought of that but that's a good idea, like you say no taping required and you can still look through the hone buying section at the houses you could never own all because its not temporarily attatched to your car.

the cling film is also good because if your using any sort of spray it is waterproof whereas too much spray on paper= alot of clay bar work to get it off!! i found out the hard way :(
i got the laquer off by peeling it as mine was quite bad, i imagine an old credit card or something would be good.

LOL, that's why I won't get one. Atleast using a card it isn't that sharp to damage the caliper.

I refurbed mine recently. I used a Stanley scraper. It's a yellow scraper with a stanley knife blade that fits flat on the front of it (got it from Homebase). The lacquer came off really easy with that.I scraped the white 'Brembo' stickers off aswell. After I got the lacquer off I rubbed my calipers with fine wire wool to smoothe them down a bit. I resprayed them with 4 coats of Simoniz Sperex VHT red paint, applied new Brembo stickers and gave the calipers 4 coats of VHT lacquer.

I took my pads out and just masked everything up with newspaper and sprayed the calipers on the car. It was a time consuming process but I'd say well worth it cause they look like brand new now and nice and bright.

I've fitted new Pagid discs and pads since refurbing the calipers.
