Brembo Conversion Evo IV

Morning all, after a long night on the grave yard shift i've been offered a quite a good deal from one of my fellow workers who's very big in rallying, he bought a complete set of brembos from a Evo VI for his rally car but sorry to say they wont fit (bad for him but good for me):whistling:

All he has is the calipers them selfs and the old worn pads still fitted(very worn lol) no fitting bolts, no disc's, no lines, no nothin

When i get chance to fit them i'm going to do a how too, but i need to get everything before hand, so i just need to know what i need

Which Hel lines to get ie Evo IV or Evo VI (mines Evo IV)

What sizes Disc's ie 310mm (not bothered what type)

Will they fit straight on or do the bolts have to be changed to another size and what size do i need

Do i need washers to pull the bolts out a bit further as i have read if i use the old bolts from My Evo IV they are too long and the brakes jam

I would like to refurb them before they get fitted so wheres the best place to get the seals and rings, plus like to repaint them as the paint has faded and looks a bit crap, so whats the best paint for them and where to get

I know i have asked alot of questions so far, but would be grateful for any help on this conversion Many thanks in advance

Go for new discs and pads, braided lines and some genuine bolts for the calipers. Also, if you're running them, they won't fit under standard Evo 4 wheels.

Your joking man wont fit under the gold 17's (balls lol) so they have to be changed as well (wife wont be happy rofl)

Where is the best place to get the oringnal bolts from???

Isn't the orginal alloys 16,s and the optional extra are 17,s in the gold alloys? What makes them not fit, is it the dia or the width of the alloy, if it's the width will a wheel spacer help, not got the approval of the wife nor the money (been buying to much) lol

The offset is wrong for standard Evo 4 wheels to fit over brembos so I'd recommend a set of standard Evo 6 wheels as the later 7/8/9 wheels are wider again and finish outside the line of the rear arches so rear arch mods are usually required. You will still use your existing tyres though

Lee advised me about same issue, ive never had a prob on my e4 since!!

Just cant afford new alloys mate, only just bought new tyres for her, and a new water pump, wheel bearing, mot, tax, clutch and then got brembos to pay then discs and pads just not worth the hassle of paying yet more money out on alloys just to do the conversion. Oh well never mind lol

You can use your own tyres and then fit them onto a set of Evo 6 alloys which will set you back around £150 and it will improve the look of the car

I'll leave the conversion for now, I won't get rid of the calipers cause they were a real bargain in fact a bloody steal at hundred ponies lol but got too much to do and get so this will have to wait till after Xmas, never gives more time to refurb them

Thought you might have to chip in, add something to the mix and no boyo no brembos for you, all you would do all is lick them all day:whistling:

Shut it you tart lol, i missed the end of the auction gutted man no one bought them emailed him and then he changed his mind and wanted 450 for them if i had'nt missed the end would've had them for 150 lol
