so what im askin is ...
what sort of brake upgrade is out there??
ie :- bigger discs..what options are there??
i know EBC do the usr an drilled options but they are srtill standard size so are they any better than standard factory discs
cheers

for a good set up maintaining the factory brembo calipers i would suggest
ebc red pads front and rear
new slotted rotors (not slotted and drilled as they become slotted, drilled and cracked)
braided brake lines
pbr 600f brake fluid or similar high temp fluid
you will never complain about your brakes again

i cant give you a brand of discs as i am in australia and the best value for money discs here are DBA 5000 series but i dont know if you can get them over there but they are a slotted 2 piece rotor and the 4000 series are 1 piece and available in slotted, drilled or both
any good quality slotted rotor will do the job for you inc ap, alcon brembo etc as long as the slots run the full face of the rotor from inner edge to outer to help with de-gassing and cleaning the braking area
note that the one problem with this sort of upgrade is that the rotors can no longer be machined which means they are a throw away item when you replace the brake pads but having said that a good set up like that it is worth the extra money later

Personally I would keep well clear of EBC red pads - see my post in the brakes bit at the top.

Braded lines are good.

When changing the brakes on my Evo 4 several people told me drilled or slotted discs are un-necessary.
But concidering may people upgrade to the set up you have I'd guess yours may just need a service - check for air in teh oil or put fresh oil in.

the package that i have mentioned is what i run on my evo and I have done several track days on them and never had a problem
changing the brake fluid is a good idea and should be done at every big service. a good rule to work by is to change it when you change your plugs.
due to the fact that brake fluid absorbs water (moisture in the air) and water has a much lower boiling point then brake fluid the more water you have in your system the worse you brakes will perform and you will end up with brake fade real fast
re the slotted rotors
on the positive side as i mentioned earlier the slots act as a de-glazer cleaning the pad of build up and giving the pad/rotor a chance to disapate some gas and heat. also gives the pad a real good bite as it passes over the slot and bites back into the rotor
on the negative side they are a throw away item when you replace your pads where as normal rotors can be machined (provided that they have the minimum thickness)
