brake pads!

hi there boys and gals, needs some advice!

what do you suggest regarding evo 8 break pads?..at the moment i do have the standard ones (brembo's)...i'm doing 8o% commuting and only 20% tracks.

God isnt this a thing that could be going around in circles for a while,,

Every one will have their own opinions about pads etc,,,

I myself have the standard brembo pads on at the moment and work well enough,,

But i for one will not be doing any track days etc so i cant comment on which will be a good compromise for both,,

I guess you have to factor in some pads do squeal no matter how u try and cure them,, Plus the dust factor also,,, And yes the cost,,

What budget do u have in mind is the thing??,,,

I have standard brembos and I run carbontec XP10's up front and XP8's on the rear. Now these are as good as some of the top big brake kits and they are awesome on track. The amount of bite at any speed will put a passenger through the screen and abs kicking in at 100mph isn't uncomon

Now yes the downside is that they don't like town driving and squeal alot in traffic but in my mind with the power I have it's a small price to pay for some awesome stoppers and alot of confidence in my brakes

For the road I use yellow stuff and track I was using Project Mu HC+. Changed back to yellow stuff as the Mu pads were SO noisy on the road.

I have heard great things about the new Blue stuff from EBC so might be worth a look

It seems that EBC have got their act together are on the right track too!!!

With that in mind Ron, I suggest that you give Brakes4U a shout buddy and see what they can sort out for you.

Yea I rate the pf pads good as well. No noise at all just don't take them on track like I did cos you'll kill them

EBC pads are not great IMO , had them on my ctr and evo and squeal like a pig boy !!!!

what material did you have on the ctr and evo mate as they are all chamferred and shimmed now so no pig squeeling now lol.
yellows is the compound i would only fit on these for normal road and the odd track day use.....for strict race set up Bluestuff only you have only got to look at scoobynet and other Lancer forums to see the impresive feedback on the bluestuff

Yes the new yellowstuff is what we call scorched these bed in FAST.(EBC toast the surface in a special infra red tunnel to take away the bed in fade and loss of track time bedding in new pads for you)
