boost solonoid advice

hi all im currently have a evo iv when i brought it it had avcr boost controller installed, untill i get a evo 5 or 6 ecu and bigger injectors can i run a 3 port solonoid off the ecu wiring in place of the 2 port is this possible ? has i dont want to blow my engine thanks all

You need it mapped if you intend to use ecu controlled boost.
No good comes of plugging things in and expecting them to work...

just asking has i was told to sell my avcr and get a 3 port 5 or 6 ecu and injectors but havent got ecu or injectors yet

and doesnt the evo 4 ecu control the boost it would off standard or am i wrong ? im new to evo scene never owned one mainly had golf turbos etc

Yes the 4 ecu controls boost. But the settings are for the std solenoid. If you fit a 3 port with those settings, you'll be hitting over 2bar.
The settings need altering to allow a 3 port. You can't map a 4 ecu. Hence you need to fit a 5/6 ecu.
