today i fitted a boost guage thats digital when i drive at full chat i get 1.0bar so am i rite in thinking that this is standard boost

i am led to believe evo 5`s can run at 1.5-1.7bar?

i also have bought a dawes device,so when i fit this then i should beable to run 1.5-7 bar is this correct?

also what will a standard actuator boost is it 1.5?

and finaly saying when i have fitted the dawes device and its boosting 1.5bar will it be a significant diffrence in power?

Hey dude

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me

I think the 5/6/7 blocks can run about 1.7 max but I'm sure without a map the engine will hit the fuel cut and just hit a wall

Fitting the Dawes device will help with boost control but without a map the car will only except about 1.2 max before fuel cut ;)

That's what I think I know lol ;)

cheers mate im pretty sure my car has been re-mapped

remember at santa pod when u had a look at the ecu and the 4 wires were hanging out well el looked and said its because its been re-mapped

its my belief that because it went through an sva check that they put it all back to standard i think i dont know for sure

ill have to see if i can scrape enuff together for russ to re-map it:sad:

Yea Id go with that Tom :)

When my mate had his 5 mapped antony@indigo-Gt done it and recommended no more than 1:65 peak holding around 1:50

Actuator only is around 0:90 :)

And yea you'll notice a difference. Then after a while you'll want even more

No he means the standard actuator pressure is 0.9 bar (14psi) ish ;) but can handle about 1.5/1.6 no probs ;)

hi lee u saying my actuator can only handle 0.9?

No mate. 0:90 is what the actuator will do on it own without any other boost control.

I would imagine your daws device would see you up to 1:50 no probs :)

Steve, try to run it safe until the fuelling/knock is checked over by Russ.

With any controller, it is always tempting to crank it up that little bit more buddy.........only to find that something has gone pop!!!!

Around 7 times out of 10, it always ends in tears.

I'm sure if you ask Russ nicely he will just check over the map on it to see what it's doing ;)

You can ask him nicely to check the fuelling and Knock though on the day! ;)
