boost gauge wiring help

i know its a common subject, but been searching for ages and struggling to find an answer

i will be buying and fitting rspec boost gauge to my 8,
52mm Smoked Super Amber/White Turbo Boost Gauge (PSI) [SSA216BFWABO270-PSI] - £39.99 : R-Spec Performance Products Ltd, Performance Products For Performance Cars
its going to be positioned in an 'A' pillar pod, what i'm wanting to do is, wire it up so its white when my headlights are off during daylight and when i turn them on at night, the gauge changes to red so there isnt any glare

how can i go about carrying it out? what feeds can i wire into?

I have this done one my evo 4

i used the wire from my radio/headunit, it has a dim function when the headlights are turned on, so i found that colour wire an used that

How did you find out what the dim function was?
