bonnet catch

i'm screwed my car went to have an estimate done as i got ran off the road. its not being written off or repaired and i have money from the insurance to fix it myself. but i just went to remove the wing and the bonnet catch is releasing from the bonnet end. cable to open it is fine inside the car. it was opening fine after the accident, but now its back from the garage its not opening.
any idea how to open it????
